I was 49 years old when it finally dawned on me that the reason for my frequent knee pain, whenever I climbed stairs or go driving, is not only sign of old age, but a serious knee problem. I subsequently went to the doctor who prescribed glucosomine. That has been great for my knee except that I don't take it so often. I am not a great believer of taking western medication for fear of future side effect, especially on the kidney that was 5 years ago.
